Zone Scent. A revolution in bathroom air fresheners!

Zone Scent by Desert is a new way of scenting your bathroom. Using unique passive technology that does not require any batteries we place units where the scent is needed. No need to stress about how you are going to safely dispose of or recycle the batteries and aerosol cans. Simple, cost effective and far less waste.

Environmental Benefits

  • Only 2.7gms of PET plastic compared with a urinal mat of up to 82g EVA plastic.
  • Save up to 95% of plastic waste from urinal mats.
  • Fragrance is encapculated in the dispensing mechanism so no need for extra plastic packaging.
  • No batteries required.
  • Smaller lighter item means lower transport and storage cost.
  • Lower carbon emissions.
  • Dispenser is easy to recycle at end of life.

Urinal Mat Waste – a real problem

  • Did you know most cleaners install urinal mats to provide more fragrance around the urinal?
  • Did you know by doing this it makes the urinal smell worse as the scale builds up underneath?
  • Did you know that each urinal mat is 50-90gms of plastic waste which is not recycled?

By installing a ZoneScent unit above the urinal you can reduce plastic waste by up to 97% and have a cleaner urinal. If you are looking for a better way to clean the urinal drains at the same time, install a reusable Desert Urinal Drain Canister with our Probiotic Urinal Cube.

Plastic and Battery Waste

How much plastic is recycled?
With only 9% of annual plastic waste recycled, the myth that we can recycle our way out of a mounting plastic pollution crisis doesn’t add up. Around 85% of plastic packaging worldwide ends up in landfills.

How many batteries end up in landfill?
In Australia, over two-thirds of handheld batteries end up in landfills. The recycling rate for batteries is low, with an estimated 6 % of end-of life handheld batteries being recovered for reprocessing.

Aerosol cans are a real issue!

  • Did you know that aerosol fragrance cans are very difficult to recycle in a lot of areas in Australia?
  • Did you know that if the cleaner or hygiene company disposes of an aerosol can to landfill, it can cause an explosion or fire in the dump truck if not completely empty?

Choosing Passive Zone Scenting is a far safer option. No cans, no batteries.
